NIKHILA RAMAN - PRESIDENT
Nikhila is a competitive tennis player aspiring to play college tennis. She is a high school student at Carlmont High School (Belmont CA) and plays for the Varity Girls tennis team. She has been playing since the age of seven and reached top 60 in USTA 14U in NorCal division.
As an athlete, Nikhila is no stranger to injuries and has experienced her share in her journey. She understands the importance of managing them correctly while continuing to work on the sport. Nikhila is convinced that proper knowledge and information helps prevent injuries, which would have benefited her when she was dealing with them. This is why she now wants to spread awareness to other teens who are working on their sports dreams and help them understand injury prevention.
Nikhila also has deep interest in the field of sports medicine and wants to potentially pursue it professionally. Working for SHINE is a great opportunity for her to partner with experts in this field and learn.
RHEA SUBRAMANIAN - FOUNDER & BOARD MEMBER

Rhea developed an interest in sports health after she had to overcome a couple of injuries she sustained on the soccer field in her pre-teen years. As a player who works hard to stay in the sport she loves so much, she appreciates the challenges a young athlete faces in his / her injury-prone adolescent years.
When Rhea created SHINE, she found a lot of support within her own network of sports sciences experts. These are individuals who share her drive to address the alarming increase in sports-related injures in pre-teens and teens. With their support, she is looking forward to speaking to / working directly with players to educate them, and creating programs that incorporate the players' perspective.
